Sunny Leighton Moss

With the weather predicted to be good for the north west on my week off headed up to Leighton Moss and a beautiful morning with Sedge and Reed Bunting singing as I headed for the saltmarsh hides which overlook part of Morecambe Bay.

This morning it was looking good in the morning sunshine with the water calm and the waders feeding with the a few Greenshanks feeding around the hides often chasing each off. Quite a few flocks with Redshanks, Dunlin and Black-tailed Godwits feeding in big flocks on the shoreline with small numbers of Snipes, Oystercatcher, Lapwings and Little Egrets feeding around the edge as well wonderful to just watch.

The ended the morning around the main visitor centre where in the trees around the feeder had a few Marsh Tits, pair of Bullfinches, Nuthatches and a few Great Spotted Woodpecker before from the main hide had a nice view of a Great White Egret interesting to see it feeding next to Grey Heron and Little egret.
